A Modern Whimsical Oriental Wedding for Michael & Ella
Conceived as an immersive celebration of modern oriental romance, the wedding of Michael & Ella transformed the venue into a #styledbyKhim world of whimsy, symbolism, and theatrical elegance. A palette of deep red, dark pink, and muted gold enveloped the space in warmth and intensity, balancing vibrance with refined sophistication.
Suspended above the venue was a pair of monumental conical installation, sculptural pieces layered with patterns that unfolded dramatically across the ceiling plane. Beneath it, an expansive floral composition introduced a larger-than-life sense of movement and scale.
Guests were welcomed through an immersive entrance tunnel inspired by the wedding invitation itself, creating a seamless visual narrative from first impression to celebration. Lantern elements, flowing koi-inspired forms, and oversized florals shaped the passageway with a sense of poetic rhythm and motion. Echoing this concept, a 65-foot LED floor carpet mimicked the graceful movement of swimming koi fish, transforming the arrival experience into a surreal and cinematic journey.
Within the cocktail area, the photo backdrop drew inspiration from the delicate layering of flower petals. Sculptural in form yet soft in expression, the installation served as a romantic focal point, unfolding like a blooming composition suspended in motion.
Together, the design balanced oriental influence with contemporary spatial storytelling, creating an immersive environment rooted in symbolism, texture, and quiet grandeur.
